I'm spoiled rotten!

Been a little bit since i last blogged but hey... i'm a busy boy!  But i'm a happy good busy boy! (so everyone says)  Been eating some new and interesting things lately.  At first i wasn't to big on my veggies but i started chasing them with fruit (I LOVE MY FRUITS) and now i'll eat my veggies pretty good as long as every other bite is something good! hehe!  I've started drinking juice sometimes now too and i love it as well.  Not to big on the sippy cup yet so mommy puts it in a small bottle and i take it from there.  I love being able to feed myself my bottle.  I take it out to talk and then put it right back just like i'm a big boy. :-)  From the looks of this picture you'd think i was spoon feeding myself too... not sure how food got on my forehead.

My hair is thinning out a lot too... mommy still thinks i'm handsome though even with my bald spot in the back! Now that i'm learning to sit up though maybe it will finally start growing back.  Hope so or i'm gonna have to start wearing a ball cap like my daddy does.  

Speaking of sitting up... mommy and daddy are trying to help me learn to sit up but i'd rather play instead so when they sit me up on the bed i kick my foot out and make myself fall backwards.  I giggle and then we do it again and again and again... grownups are so easy to train! Ha!  We do a game for rolling over too.  The roll me over and i giggle so they roll me back over and i giggle again, you get the picture. :-)  Daddy thinks i'll be 15 before i can walk! lol  Puttin' off sittin sure gives of lots of play time practicing though and we all love play time so it's a win win!  Mommy gets so tickled at me.  We have so much fun together! 

Today after mommy picked me up we went to the store and got me a new bath seat.  I've pretty much out grown my little baby tub.  This seat you get to sit down in the real tub and i loved it!  I kicked and splashed and played with my little rubber ducky.  Grandma & Danny came to see me the other week and brought me the ducks.  I've got several ducks now & Mommy says i'll have even more fun when i start sitting better and can play with them all and then she'll get me all kinds of other toys to play with in there too.  I can't wait!!  And i think Bubba (the silly cat) got a little jealous... he loves water but mommy wouldn't let him join me.  But as soon as i got out we looked and he was drinkin the water.  Mommy says he's gonna be a bad influence on me. lol  I already try to lick the water off my shoulder.  And i've realized that rain is water also... the other morning it was raining and as we went to the car i stuck my tounge out and tried to catch as much as i could.  Mommy says that night when we got home i was sleeping and i did it again. (in my sleep!)  I'm just a silly monkey though! 

 I now also like to read!  Whenever we go to the store i get the receipt after we check out to show the door greeter.  It's usually not to readable once i get done with it though.  I like to make it crinkle! hehe Everyday when mommy picks me up from daycare they give her a sheet of paper that says when and what i ate that day and other stuff and well mommy hands it to me and i carry it to the car for her and then all the way home i read it to her and tell her what all it says.  Once i get to the end of it, (i read it several times to make sure she got it all) then i throw it over in the seat and move on to something else.  In the mornings we sing along to the radio.  She thinks i'm silly but it makes the car ride so much more fun.  I even try to hit the high notes! lol  She cracks up everytime!  Especially the mornings when the suns out and i got my shades on.  I'm one cool dude then.  I walk into daycare (well mommy carries me in but it sounds better if i say i walked in...) and everyone is like look at that cool little dude in his shades!  And i grin the biggest grin!  Yeah i'm a little full of myself but hey if ya got it...........

A New Year!

It's a new year and i've had many "first's" since my last blog.  Had my first Thanksgiving and smelt turkey cooking all day.  Mommy gave me some sweet potatoes but i didn't like them.  I spit them back out.  Her's looked good but mine comes in this little plastic container and is no where near the same!

Than a few weeks later I had my first Christmas.  It was a "White Christmas too!"  We went home to mommy and daddy's hometowns and spent it with family.  We stayed at Mammaw & Papaw Downeys cause they have a room there for all of us to stay in.  Went and visited with my grandma & grandpa feller and some of my aunts & uncles too!  I was a little cranky cause the time was different and i knew we weren't home so i was off schedule.  And with the cold and snow mommy didn't want to get me out to much so we didn't get to go see everyone we wanted to but we will try to come to town again once this crazy weather gets better.   Thank you everyone though for all the wonderfuel new toys and clothes i got.  I love toys!! 

The last night we were there mommy let me sleep in mamaw's room with them.  Mamaw was really excited about it and so was mommy because she would actually be able to get some sleep.  Ha!  I didn't sleep good the whole time we were there so neither did she.  The next morning we got up and mamaw gave me a bath in her little sink to get me all cleaned up to go to church for the first time.  Mommy had got me a little outfit with a vest and tie and boy did i look sharp in that!!  :-)  Mommy said i was one handsome little dude!  (but she always tells me that.) 

Me and mommy planned to go back to Indiana for New Years Eve for a get together with her family but after we got home from the first trip me, mommy and daddy all took turns being sick.  I had to stay home from daycare a couple days cause i had a fever and then i got better and then mommy was sick.  Probably cause she loved on me to much trying to make me feel better.  She kisses on my so much that she probably has withdrawls during the day when she's at work and cant do it. Ha!  So anyways, instead we stayed home here with daddy and celebrated the new year as a family.  And i got 2 kisses at midnight!!  Our drinks for the night were good 'ol Nightquil and formula! Ha!

At my last appointment on 12/20 i had grown another inch making me 25in tall and weighed 12.75lbs.   I had to get shots that day too and i screamed so loud but as soon as the nurse was done mommy picked me up and i stopped.  The nurse was suprised that all it took was for mommy to pick me up and she told me i was such a good boy so i even gave her a little smile.  (even after she just stabbed me in both of my little legs.)

On another note, i turned 5 months old Jan. 9th.  For my b-day i cashed in my piggy bank and daddy took me to buy a tv for my bedroom.  I got a 32" LED and daddy hung it on the wall for me when we got home.  Daddy wont let me have anything less than the best so he had to put some of his allowance in too! :)   He is the best daddy ever!  And I love it cause now i can watch the baby channel in my room too!  And mommy has started giving me my baths in there since my room is warmer so now i get to take a bath and watch tv at the same time.  I'm livin the life!! :-)  

I'm trying to sit by myself nowadays but can only do it for a few seconds until i start falling over.  I'm starting to eat more solids now too.  Bananas are my favorite!!  Greenbeans i hate!  Mommy tried to be slick one night and give me some in between bites of bananas but i caught on to what she was doing and spit them back at her.  I'm no dummy! lol  I'm also trying to roll over.  I haven't done it yet though.  I try to get over on my side but then i get stuck.  Mommy makes a game out of rolling me and i just love it!  We both get so tickled whenever we play it.  Mommy is good at making me laugh.  And i love it when daddy plays helicoptor with me.  You know the one where i get to fly in the air!  I had fun when papaw did it too!  Once they start though i don't want them to stop.  I get mad when they do.  My new thing now is growling.  I do it all the time and now mommy and daddy do it back.   We have so much fun playing!  Execpt for when i'm cranky...

Speaking of cranky... these last few days i'm been a moody little dude so they say.  I just want to play ALL the time and not sleep.  And not sleeping good  therefore makes me cranky.  I can't help it, i just have so much fun playing.  Why do we need sleep anyways? 

Well, daddy is leaving for North Carolina in the morning so the next few days will be just me and mommy.  I'm gonna miss daddy while he is away but i'm sure me and mommy will have lots of play and cuddle time. :-) 

Okay, i'm done rambling on for tonight.  Gotta get some sleep.

Exploring...

Just a quick update...

When on my first trip to the mall in Lexington last the weekend before last.  Mommy says its an hour drive but i slept the whole way there so i didn't mind.  I was really amazed at all the silly looking people we seen there.  Daddy pushed me around in my stroller and i tried to talk to everyone and everything.  If we walked off mommy could always find us cause she could here me talkin a mile away! :-)  I think i got the most out of the trip too.  Daddy got me a UK basket ball for my room.  That thing is bigger than me!! Ha!  Also got me some new kicks like papaw's. (shoes)

We also went to the Carter store and mommy picked me out a bunch of new outfits.  And... that's where i found my new best friend!  My lil' Monkey!  He's just my size and i loved him as soon as mommy picked him up and gave him to me.  He sleeps with me every night and loves watchin tv with me.  On Sundays we watch football together and i lay there and scratch his head for him.  He talks to me too... i know it's really mommy talkin for him but i still get a good laugh out of it.  Me, mommy & monkey make monkey faces together!

 This weekend me, mommy and daddy went shopping for toys for mommy's works Christmas party.  I LOVED seeing all those toys!  I rode in mommy's cart so we stopped and played with most of the toys as we went.  That is until i fell asleep.  Now mommy has to wrap them all.  She should be a pretty good wrapper by the time she gets done... just in time to wrap all MY Christmas presents!! :-)  Daddy is gonna spoil me rotten... Mommy says i already am cause she buys me everything i want! And she says I AM everything SHE wants!!   I can tell she loves me SO SO much!!  I even say momma now.  As for daddy... I light up when i see him.  Every night when me and mommy get home she takes me in to see him and i give him the biggest smile.  I get so happy to see him.  Oh and for everyone else, if i want your attention and you're not paying attention to me i yell "Hey!"   I'm full of myself but everyone loves me!

Things are pretty good at daycare but i've started getting a little jealous, so they say.  That lady told mommy that i was in my boucy happy as can be and then she picked up another baby to hold and i seen them and screamed out bloody murder.  I don't want them holding anyone but me! :-) Mommy says we have to take turns and i have to play nice though.  :-( 

I get to celebrate my first "turkey day" this week.  I'm sure daddy will let me lick a taste of everything.  I like trying new things.  I can't really eat any of them but i sure like to lick them and taste them.  Mommy says i make some pretty funny faces sometimes. 

Okay i better get to bed.

3 Months Old!

My oh my i'm 3 months old already!  Mommy says it's been the best 3 months of her life and guess what?... Mine Too! Ha!  She wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING!  Well as you've noticed it's been a little while since my last blog but that's cause i have much better things to do anymore, like playing with mommy and daddy! :-) I stay awake a lot more now and i love talkin and gigglin with them.  And they love it too! I'm even starting to find my deep inner laugh.  Mommy can't wait til i let it out!

I made it through my first Halloween the other week.  I was "Yoda" and my cousin Keyona was "Princess Leia".  (I was actually her 1st Halloween too.)  Everyone thought we were sooooo cute! Said i was the cutest Yoda they'd ever seen many times.  Well of course! :-)  Mammaw & Papa Downey came down that weekend and went Trick-or-Treating with us all.  Me and Keyona rode in the stroller so it wasn't bad for us. (No hills for us! Hehe) Everyone else got a good workout though.  Afterwards we all celebrated Keyona's 1st b-day.  She had her own little cake and man did she go to town on it.  She had cake ALL over my poor high chair.  But now mommy knows that for my b-day to put a towel down first. She says she's just gonna put me out in the yard and then hose me off! Hey that could be fun...

Mammaw & Papa came and got me from mommy's work that day when they got to town since mommy & daddy had to work for a few more hours still.  But them silly people ended up going in circles and got lost and i wasn't too happy about it.  It was time for me to eat and they were taken forever!  We finally made it home though and i got to eat so then i was a happy camper.  I gave papa the first smile... he acts like my daddy and i miss my daddy during the day so he was a good fill in. :-) I gave mammaw plenty smiles the rest of the weekend though.  Even though she tried to give me a mohawk before she left.

Sunday of course is football day around here and i love it! Mommy laid me on my mat in the living room and turned football on and i was happy for hours.  I was talkin up a storm tryin to tell them players what to do. I must get that from my daddy.  I really loved it when the crowd cheered "ME" on.  I would giggle and laugh everytime.  I was really enjoying myself and mommy seemed to really enjoy me being so happy.  She was laughin right with me. (or at me... not really sure) Sat. daddy went and helped aunt Kim finish puttin up her underpinning, whatever that is and then they decided to fix her kitchen floor so me and mommy went over there to join them.  All my cousins had gone to daycare that day so their mommy could get that done before winter comes.  I was trying to tell them how to do the floor but they would just laugh at me.  I didn't mind though, cause when they laugh i laugh even more.  My daddy is such a good man.  Me and mommy are sure lucky to have him and love him soooo soooo much!

Okay let's see, what else?  Oh ya, mommy fixed me my first bowl of rice cereal tonight and I loved it! She didn't make to much but i ate the whole bowl.  It was yummy to my tummy.  My sleep has been off lately (mommy says its cause of the time change, i thought time changed all day every day but whatever she says) anyways, she thinks the cereal may help me sleep better and not wake up all during the night like i have been for the last week.  We'll see. And I am holding my head up really good now and i love to sit up.  I do pretty good with high back support unless i'm sleeping.  I'd rather sit up now too cause i can't see it but mommy says i'm starting to get a bald spot in the back.  I don't want that, i'm way to young to go bald!  My hair is thinning out but i've still got a headfull and i'm still mommy's handsome little man! 

I like to cuddle with things now too.  Just whatever i can get my hands on i pull up by my face and don't let go.  It helps me sleep and mommy thinks its cute! :-)   She's loves to cuddle with ME!  It's time to go shopping agian... i'm out growing all my clothes.  My 0-3 sleepers... you can forget them, i moved up to 3-6 months awhile ago.  Some things are now big on me a little still but the lengh is just right.  Daddy bought me some camoflage boots the other week and i look like such a big boy in them.  Mommy says i'm growing way to fast on her.

Well, it's way past my bed time so i'm gonna call it a night.  Thanks for checkin up on me.

My first visit "TO" the hospital

As you noticed in my last blog i had caught a "bug".  Well that mean bug just wouldn't leave me alone day after day so finally mommy was getting really worried that i might get dehydrated so she called the doc.  Doc. took to long to return mommys call so she decided to go ahead and take me up to the ER.  Did you know that it's a sign of dehydration when a babies "soft spot" sinks in? Well now you do! Mommy read that on the internet and thats why she decided to take me up to the hospital.  Good thing she did cause i was dehydrated.  When Dr. in the ER first looked me over he said i wasn't but wanted some blood work to make sure.  So then these 2 mean ladies came in there and stabbed me in my little arm tryin to get an IV set for if they needed it and to draw some blood.  Well they messed it up so my blood came out to slow and cloted so it was no good.  And they hurt my arm for no reason!  I was already really mad and then they decided to stab my little foot and get blood from there.  They squeezed and squeezed until they finally got enough.  And i had definately had enough.  When they finished mommy scooped me up and i gave her the sadess little face.  I already didn't feel good and they were making me hurt in more places. 

Me and mommy waited and waited and then 2 more nurses came in and said they were going to hook up an IV.  The doc. never came and talked to us about the results but the nurses said that they had called MY doc and he wanted me to be admitted because my count was low and i was dehydrated.  This time they tried to put the IV in my other arm and by the time they were done (which they did succed) me and mommy were both in tears.  She hated seeing me in pain like that.  She said it broke her heart watching.  This time i was really glad when mommy scooped me up off the bed and kissed and hugged me.  I just wanted to go home.  Since we had my seat, diaper bag, mommy's purse and i was not letting her put me down again another nurse just loaded everything up on the bed and wheeled us up to our room.  She first brought a wheelchair but quickly realized that that wasn't going to work.

Shortly after we got settle Aunt Kim showed up to bring mommy some food since she hadn't eatin all day and daddy showed up too.  He had a busy day at work but still managed to make it up there to be with me.  Mommy stayed up there with me the whole time and i made her hold me and cuddle with me most of the time.  I had finally fell into a good sleep so she layed me in my bed and good thing she did cause it wasn't long after that that i exploded again!  Mommy buzzed the nurse and between everyone i got cleaned up and my bed too.  My poor little tummy just was not agreeing with me.  Little later the night nurse came in to take my temp and was tellin mommy that the little 3mth old girl in the next room and just shot out all over him face and all when he tried to take her temp.  (ya know since they like to take it from our bottoms...)  And about that time... there i went!  I did it to him too! (just not in the face, i think he learned not to get to close!) Poor guy, mommy felt bad for him but couldn't help but laugh at the same time.  He was good spirited though so he wasn't mad at me.  He tried to talk to me everytime he came in to my my vitals but i wanted nothing to do with him.  I just wanted mommy to love on me and keep all those mean people with their needles away.  They stabbed my other foot that night for blood and then the next morning they went back to the other.  AND then they went back to the other again and some lab guy had to come back and redo it AGAIN so they went back to the other.  My poor little feet weren't gonna take much more of that.  My doc. had made a trip up and talked to mommy a little that night and then again the next day.  Said if my count was better than i could go home cause Sat. i was able to drink a little and hadn't had any more "leakage" except during the early morning hours.



When they finally got the results back they told us that the normal count is 20 and Fri. when i came in mine was only 13.  The last set of test late Sat. afternoon my count was up to 18 so they said i could go home. Yay!  Havin' that IV of fluids all night and day helped.  And me and mommy were both worn out and ready to go home. 



I did pretty good once we got home but later that night i was in my swing and me, mommy and daddy were watching a movie when all of a sudden... i exploded everywhere again.  Mommy and daddy both just looked at each other, i guess trying to decide who was gonna clean me up.  Well, it took BOTH of them!  And mommy had just givin me a bath and had me smellin sooo good too! 


Well, i'm doin better now, just still tryin to build my appetite back up.  Rested a lot Sun. and then mommy went back to work today and i went back to daycare.  They were all glad to see me this morning.  Hopefully soon i'm be 100% and back to myself.  Until then i just get lots of extra lovin from mommy.  Oh and daddy says i better get better soon cause i get to go trick-or-treating this weekend AND mama & papa are coming to visit!  I think daddy just wants my candy though.  Ha!  Oh yea, AND we are having a b-day party for my cousin Keyona.  She's going to be 1! 



Okay, well there are all the juicy (and i mean "juicy") details of my "bug" trouble.  Now i'm gonna go cuddle up w/ mommy and get some zzzzz's.

"BUG"

Okay so they say i've caught a "bug"... but how did it get in my tummy and why wont it come out?  My poor little bottom has been put through enough.  I haven't been myself since Tues. and i don't like it.  Stuff is coming out of both ends and me nor mommy are very happy about it.  Mommy says i've made the whole house smell like a sewage plant!  I didn't even feel like eating much today.  Probably only ate about 7 or 8oz since 7am this morning. (in which all that i had then came back up)  Mommy went and got me some stuff to help keep me from getting dehydrated and it's actually pretty good stuff.  I just wish it would make me better already.  Mommy has had to stay home with me for 2 days now cause i'm not allowed to go to daycare if my bottom is "leakin".  She says today was worse than yesterday.  Good thing she bought some more diapers yesterday... she's needed them!  We hope I'm better by morning cause if not mommy is going to take me back to the doctor.  Yesterday we had an appointment already so she talked to the dr. about whats going on since it started tues., but of course you can't find many "American" doctors anymore so she didn't get much out of him (that she understood anyways).  He just said if more diarehhea then give some pedialyte, but if not than don't.  Well duh!  On a good note though, i am growing... longer that is.  I'm not a whole 2feet long. (24in")  And he said i weigh 9.75lbs.   I was really needy yesterday and today and wanted mommy to hold me most of the day.  So yesterday she decided to read me a story.  It was something about "red fish" and "blue fish".  That cat in that hat is so silly.  I even giggled out loud a few times as mommy was ready it.  Mommy thinks i was just laughin at her though cause she was being silly while reading it.  Either way though, i enjoyed it.  Thanks again Aunt Britney for the books.  Since i can focus a little now she plans to start reading to me a lot more.  Gonna have to get me some more books! =)

Tuesday was my daddy's 35th birthday! Good thing we celebrated it with friends Sat. cause Tues. night i just wasn't up for it.  Mommy says he had a toddler party cause all the kids that were here but he had a good time and that's all that matters.  I think he is really glad that this birthday he finally got to spend as a "daddy".  He even let me try the icing off his cake.  As you can see in my pictures on my website. ( http://www.jaxondowney.com/ ) Mommy got him a UK cake but i guess he got excited and he cut it before mommy could take a picture. 

Sunday Grandma Feller and Danny came to visit me.  We hung out here at home together.  I even gave them a few grins & giggles.  Grandma got me a new toy to hang on my seat!  It rattles REALLY easy... mommy can hear it if the wind blows.. lol  I like when they come to visit... they bring me TOYS!!  :-)

Mommy did get out my mat thingy the other day, ya know with the toys that hang on a bar over you.  One of the animals on it i can reach and everytime i made it move it would jingle.  And I like!  I wanted the rest to move and make noise too so i would scoot down and wrap my arm around the side of the bar thingy and then pull my arm back towards me and whatda ya know... the whole bar would move and make all the things jingle and rattle. HeHe!!  I'm one smart little dude... i know how to make it work! That night while mommy cooked dinner daddy got down there on the floor and played with it with me.  I love my daddy, he's so silly.  I reconize his voice now and when i hear it i look all around until i see him.  Even though i'm not feelin so great i still managed to let out a little grin for him tonight.

Okay i've been all over the place in this blog so i think i'm gonna call it a night. Me and mommy need some sleep.  We are both worn out.

Jax's rough day...

Well i was stabbed today... yep some mean old lady stabbed me 3 whole times in my little legs.  The first one was bad enough and i screamed but settled down and then the second was worse and by the third one... i was MAD!  If they wouldn't of been holding me down i would've scooted right off that table tryin to get away.  I squeezed mommy's had so hard i'm surprised i didn't break her finger.  When it was all done mommy picked me up and loved on me which made me feel a little better.  But just a little.  Mommy don't think that nurse knows what she's talking about cause she thinks i look little... when she put me on the scale though she realized i'm not so little after all.  I weigh a whole 10lbs. now and i've grown another 1/2in making me 23.25in long.  So i'm just right, as mommy would say.

After the doctor we hurried home cause it was past time for me to eat.  We waited a little while for daddy to get home but he never showed so we left and went to good ol wal-mart.  Mommy wanted to get me some pain medicine and she bought me a new toy too! =)  I was getting mad while she was looking at things and then she started playin with this toy and i giggle and loved it.  So yep, i got it!  Its to hang on my car seat so i have something to play with in the car.   Oh and she bought me another little jacket and some more pants and socks.  My socks don't like to stay on so she got me some that come up my leg a little more, and she thinks i wont kick these off... Ha!  My legs get plenty of exercise... all night i pull them up in the air over and over again until i get my cover off and then put my legs on top of it.  And of course mommy pulls it back out and covers me back up.  This is another game i like to play at night.  Not really sure why i play the games i do but i do it anyways.  I've also started kickin' my legs all over whenever i throw a "mad fit". (as daddy would say)  I go ALL OUT!  And of course i ALWAYS get my way!!  =)  It's easy to get your way when you are this handsome!  HeHe! 

Anyways, after we got home i was no longer happy.  My poor little legs were hurting and silly mommy got the wrong medicine.  She picked up the childrens one but not the one with the dropper thingy in it.  So i screamed and screamed and screamed, well you get the picture.  Finally i ate most of my bottle and went to sleep next to daddy.   Hopefully i will be good as new in the morning. 

Last night mommy had to work a little late again so i got to spend some more time with just daddy.  I was a little cranky though but once mommy got home and played with me i was good to go.  Mommy was playing with my little toesy's and i thought she was silly.  She loves playin and talkin to me.  Daddy does too!  Daddy sits down and talks to me every morning before he leaves for work.  I let out a few smiles and then he kisses me and he's on his way.  Mommy comes behind him and does the same thing and gets me and her ready to go and then we're off.  I love the drive in the mornings, i just sit back and look around and take it all in.  Sometimes i fall asleep before we make it to daycare but usually i'm wide awake.   And i'm always glad to mommy when she picks me up.  She loves on me and tells me how much she missed me.  I'm her little buddy!

Well i better get to bed... got a full day ahead of me tomorrow.  Ya know all that sleepin, eatin, swingin and layin' around lookin at things.  That can wear a little dude out! Ha!!
